Is Your Mind Your Worst Enemy?

Is Your Mind Your Worst Enemy?

I can walk away from someone who has hurt me.
.
I can leave an uncomfortable situation in search of comfort.
.
I can choose where I go, who I talk to and what I read or watch on T.V..
.
Yep, I can pretty much choose and change anything about my environment.
.
But, it doesn’t matter how beautiful the sunset, how clean the house is, or how well I am being treated by others if I am grumpy, angry, sad or sick.
.
The power of perception can turn a small apartment with zero upgrades and nothing in the fridge into a zen-filled place where gratitude for shelter and heat are overflowing.
.
Or if I choose to focus on what I am lacking, I can find despair, frustration or anger.
.
Yep, one thing I have learned is, nothing in the world can outshine whatever negativity I may have allowed to creep into my heart and my mind.
.
The good news is, even when my outside circumstances seem out of control I can always just change my perspective and all is well.
.
Happiness is a state of being.
.
With the right outlook, no outside circumstances can ever take your joy.
.
Every day I choose to look through the lens of love ?.
.

I realize that my mind doesn’t

My mind could be my most loving, loyal and supportive friend.

I have chosen to drop my anchor in the sea of peace.
.
I recognize that even the most peaceful sea can get a little rocky from time to time.
.
Even then I choose to find gratitude.
.
Even if all I can find is gratitude for the contrast that has come to guide me back to my heart.
